At the risk of oversimplifying the market for wireless digital devices - personal digital assistants or PDAs, “smart” phones and so on - for the most part that world is still divided into two camps: BlackBerry fans and Palm fans. This week, the latter got a definite boost when PalmOne signed a deal with Microsoft to integrate its devices more closely with the software giant's e-mail products. Does this development spell doom for Research in Motion? Hardly. The company's BlackBerry devices have a devoted following, and will likely continue to have one. At the same time, however, the fact that Palm and Microsoft's relationship is growing cozier is hardly good news for the Ontario company.

Man can someone just make Microsoft go away already? They remind of the rich kid at public school that would buy into everything or jump on every bandwagon because they can.

If Microsoft could forego being a jack of all trades (master of none) might I add and focus there attention where it belongs they might release something that works for once.

I guess they think they have to do something, it's not like their PDA phone devices are much of a success.
