Default Verizon $29.99 plan???

Please Login to Remove!

I have read a few post on this forum about a $29.99 data plan for the Verizon BB. I have been on their site and cannot locate anything less than $49.99. Can someone help me out?

I am looking to get the least expensive Verizon plan for a BB (8130). I don't need a lot of phone minutes with this plan.

Thank you in advance.

The $49.99 price is the data only price. If you have a voice plan, the data is $29.99 added to the existing voice plan.

The 29.99 is for unlimited BIS, and is an addition cost on top of the voice price.

If you will ever need to activate your BB on a BES/Enterprise Server you will need to get the BES plan which is more expensive, because the 29.99 plan is the cheaper for the normal consumer.

That chart is for business plans. For individuals, there are two BlackBerry data plans. The $29.99 is BIS, web, email, etc. The $45.99 plan is required for BES. See screenshot.

The phone minutes plan is separate from the data plan. The minimum you can have with a BlackBerry is 450 minutes I think. That one is $39.99.

The last chart has personal and business, but either way, it's the same info for the OP.

So riddle me this: I can get a Blackberry Tour for $99 (with a voice plan) from Amazon. Can I then go to a Verizon store and add on the $29 email and web plan after the fact? Is this the email plan that gives me push email?

You cannot have a BlackBerry on Verizon's network without a BlackBerry data plan. It will be added to your plan when you activate your phone. Also, it will give you push email.

I just went through the entire Blackberry Tour sign-up on Amazon (short of actually checking out). Very impressive. The $29.99 Blackberry personal email option is there, along with the ability to select a family plan, add phones (most of which cost 1 cent). This will save you $100 off the price of the Tour hardware over the Verizon on-line price. And you get free shipping!

When i activated my BB today they told me it was 5gb, but they couldn't answer my questions about the apps. Can someone explain how this all works?

Does my email, facebook and yahoo messenger after their down loaded count as internet? Cause my husband may have a hissy fit if I blow through 5gb in just a matter of days.

They use data.
And they will never use 5GB of data a month let alone a couple of days.

Here is a chart showing you some estimates for data usage with a 5 GB cap:

DataConnect Data Usage | AT&T

Remember that these are estimates, though. While it might be difficult to use more than 5 GB of data in a month, it's not impossible by any stretch of the imagination.

I would suggest looking into this 29$ plan, cause it says 5gb but i looked and mine is unlimited.

They use the term unlimited, but it is really capped at 5gb.
