Default Best Bluetooth Headset for 7290?

Please Login to Remove!

Since I can't get my current Bluetooth headset to charge I guess I'm in the market for a new Bluetooth headset for my Blackberry 7290. I'd like something that is under $100 ideally but that has the best possible sound quality. I'm not overly concerned about battery life.

Does anyone have any suggestions for ones that they have particularly liked or any advice about good deals that are out there?

Thanks!

Plantronics Voyager v510 seems to be the best. About $60

Cool. I'll take a look at both of those. Any other recommendations or opinions on either of these headsets?

I have a plantronics m3000, works fine for me, little big and bulky. Most of my users at work have MOT HS810's and they work perfectly... never had a complain yet.

cd.

I'm brand new to BB and BT, but I love the BT250v. I'm still getting used to the buttons on the headset, and still hit the disconnect button on the headset sometime when I am adjusting the volume. The sound is amazing and clear. I do get comments that there is alot of background noise when I am walking outside (wind noise mainly). What is nice though is that I don't hear the background noise on my end, like I have experienced with my other Jabra headset. Its very comfortable and doesn't seem to be as obnoxious to me as some of the other headsets I have seen on the market. I like that its black also. My girlfriend says it looks pretty bulky when she looks at the side of my head, but not too bad. I also like that the blinking blue indicator is on the back of the unit. I bought one initally at Microcenter for $99, but promptly took it back once I got to the Cingular store and found it for $79 with a $20 rebate... WHOOHOO! Overall I give it a 9 out of 10. Highly recommended!

Thanks everybody for your help with this. I ordered the Plantronics and it should arrive tomorrow. I'm sure that it'll be a big improvement over what I currently have.

This is a bit redundant with the Bluetooth headset review thread, but I've used the Motorola HS810, HS850 (warranty replacement for the 810), Plantronics M3000, and the Voyager 510 with my 7290. Of all of them, I felt that the 510 offered the best performance/comfort/price. The M3000 seemed to have the best sound quality overall but it was definitely the least comfortable (though the least expensive). Hope you like the 510! I've been very happy with mine.

Talking I switched to the V510 and what a difference!

I just got a V510 after reading BarJohn's reviews. I have a 7290 on TMobile, and have been using a Moto850, but not satisfied. As has probably already been said, it doesn't feel secure and the volume isn't great.

I LOVE the V510 so far - alright, I am already married, but so maybe I just REALLY LIKE it alot!. The difference in sound is unbelievable, or as they would say here on the east coast - UFB! I have been using the 7290 with the volume turned almost all the way up all the time with the 850. Under similar conditions, with the V510, I had to turn the volume WAY DOWN to 1 or 2 clicks from the bottom.

One unexpected benefit. Since I use the 7290 for work (and they pay for it), I also have a Moto E815 phone (through Verizon) for personal use. The V510 is matched to both - and is recognized by both at the same time! With the 850, I could use the headset with either phone, but I had to disconnect bluetooth on one to activate it with the 850 on the other. With the 510 - no problem, I turn it on, and both recognize the headset.

Also got a pretty good deal. There is a new Office Max here in town, and with the sale price on the unit of 89.98 and a $15 coupon, I ended up with this new headset for 25% less than I paid for the less than stellar 850.

Having said that if anyone wants to buy a slightly used 850, I would be willing to sell. Otherwise I'll keep it as a backup...

BarJohn, if you are listening - THANKS! Even with my glasses, this unit is flexible enough that I don't have any trouble.

if you're interested in the plantronics, I found www.compuplus.com to have the best price on the web.

(this sounds promotional, but I'm not affiliated with anyone or anything, I just did a bizrate.com search affter reading this thread)

cheers

After reading this thread, I found the best price yet via eBay from Innovative Cellular - $42.99 + $12.19 SHI. Standard disclaimer - not affiliated except as a customer.

I have been using a Nokia HSW4 for a couple of weeks and find it is quite comfortable, not too big and bulky, battery life is good as is sound quality. Because it is an ambidextrous model, I found that you need to cover the speaker hole that is not in use with a sticker or tape, otherwise too much volume is lost out the hole facing away from the ear.
