Default Thanks for the info!

I ordered one on Tuesday and got it on Thursday. That was some fast free shipping. They quoted 5+ business days as the shipping time by the way.

I just ordered two Kingston 1gb microsd cards from Newegg for $8.99/ea.

The price was too good to pass up, and I've had nothing but good experiences when buying from Newegg.

Looking forward to adding some music and movies to my Cingular Pearl as soon as I get 'em.

Got my 1GB card today. No problems at all. 982MB capacity, loaded a 305MB movie right away, played flawlessly.

Try reformatting the card in the Pearl, it might free up more space.

Do the chips require anything other than installing them? Why reformat, and how do you do it?

Micro Sandisk cards work great with the PEARL. Formatting can be done through the desktop manager. Never heard od Kingmax .... buy a Kingston 1Gb for $9 - can't go wrong.

reformatting or deletion of data can be done through the desktop manager, through the media manager, correct??? just delete the data, right???

My new Kingston 1GB did not require any formatting. Just popped it into the Pearl and transferred a few dozen mp3's and a full length movie. Worked right out of the package.

How did you then re-format the card in case you need more memory, did you just delete items using the media manager in the blackberry desktop manager software

When I put the card in the Pearl and conected to my PC, it showed 982MB free space. I didn't have to re-format anything.

i think the cards come with inbuilt software that allows them to work with devices, that's why the come short than the exact memory as mentioned... But the fact is: these cards need to be formatted once full but do you do this through the desktop manager or using the pearl format. I tried using the pearl format and this froze my pearl
