roofus - thanks for the links.
I was getting an error when it reached the browser db. I went to the advanced backup option and tried to clear the two files that were in the db. no luck as they would not "clear".
I also deleted the cookies and temporary internet files on the Storm and rebooted bothe my PC and the Storm (with a battery pull). Still no luck.
I finally called VZW and they also couldn't help --- but put me in touch with RIM. He walked me through the backup of every other db file except the offending db and backed up the Storm and then performed a wipe. After I restored the backup, eveything was back to normal.
