Apart from the GPS feature, what am I really getting trading a T-Mo 8320 for an 8900? A little better screen and camera?

I looked at the comparison page on Blackberry.com and can't see much that would justify the $200 and a contract. (I am out of contract on an 8320 and an 8100).

I have never used an 8320 as my main device but they do feel pretty different.
The user interface is upgraded to 4.6 so you have a few more features and additionally the eye candy.
The screen is significantly better, enough to make you say "wow"
They build quality is better, no more rattling or hollow feeling keys.

What more would you like, software and hardware are all improved!

Yep, the 8900 is quite a bit faster than the 8320. It's surprising the difference the cpu makes when using the browser or just downloading data from the internet.

I'm curious how much of a difference the processor speed makes in every day use, or did they add to much eye candy to the new UI and robbed all the extra clock cycles the new CPU has? I love my 8320, and would like the 8900 as an upgrade if the CPU makes a significant difference in day to day speed. My 8320 can feel sort of bogged down at times.

Upgrades: Screen resolution, camera is better, GPS, faster processor, more free memory, better browser. That's quite a few things IMO.

i recceived my 8900 a couple of days ago. I like it, but in all honesty, I am not sure that it was an upgrade worth doing over my 8320. I feel that it is like trading in a 2008 model car for a 2009 model car and the only difference is a minor facelift and maybe un upgraded stereo.

I bought the thing because I am such a tech junkie that I wasn't able to sleep knowing it was released and I didn't have it. If I were speaking from reason, I would say that it isn't enough of an improvement over the 8320, and as long as my 8320 is still working, I would hold off until the next offering.

That is what I am thinking, I will just stay with my 8320 for now.

Don't forget both GPS and WIFI in 8900 that alone is HUGE....screen resolution is not even comparable.....the resolution on 8900 is a wow factor

usb speed of the 8900 14MBs re 9MBs wr blows away the crap speed of the 8320, this plus all the other upgrades make the phone worth while. Try loading 8gigs of data on a 8320.

Faster processor and on-board memory alone is enough to warrant an upgrade for me.

The 8900 is by far better than the 8320. First the resolution is so much more improved. Then the processor is miles faster. My 8320 was just so slow. It would take too long to open up apps. Also, RIM was very generous with memory. The 8900 comes with 256mb. Right out of the box I had about 130mb free. There are many more improvements and additions. You can delete apps right from their folder, start the OS in safe mode and so on and so forth..

i prefer the 8900 over the 8320 with what everyone else has said. i had been using an 8310 and 8320 and with 4.5 everything seemed laggy and that started to get annoying. Especially when you use a Bold for a little and have to turn it back in, everything else seems slow in comparison. ;)

Its a no-brainer to me. Having used the 8320 for over a year, the 8900 is in a class all its own. I am unsure how you cannot see or feel the difference if you have used another device in the past.

I've also had the 8320 for a little over a year, and just received my new 8900 yesterday. The 8900 definitely has some improvements over the 8320, but I'm a bit on the fence as to whether I'll keep it or hold out until something better comes along. I love the speediness of the device, but am still rather disappointed with the browser...this is the one thing that could eventually make me switch to a G1 or whatever next-gen Android phone T-Mobile comes out with. And I love some of the little things such as the "lock" button, the cool clock, the more robust slots for both the memory and SIM cards, and the gorgeous screen. On the downside I hate having to use micro-USB, and though the screen resolution is awesome I think there is a slight decrease in brightness and contrast.

I already sold my 8320 (on here, actually) and am intending to purchase an 8900 ASAP. Why? First, I want GPS. I get lost constantly. (The navigation based on cell towers works in town, but not when it's actually dangerous to get lost.) HOWEVER, I don't want to lose WiFi (and, thus, HotSpot calling, my only service in my basement). Second, I want more on-board memory for more apps. I don't like leaning on a memory card, either. Third, I want a faster processor. I can technically use other apps while I listen to my streaming radio, but it makes everything SOOOO slow. Fourth, I'm excited to try what everyone else has mentioned in regards to the form factor. I don't feel that my 8320 was big, but I think it could have used slightly better build quality. It felt cheap, and the door for the MicroSD card was STUPID.
