"Brain Training" and stopwatch apps, any recommendations?

Hey guys I just came across from the darkside (they have cookies, BTW lol).
On my old devices I was using Glu's "Brain Genius" every day, and for work I use a stopwatch with lap timer function so I can measure up to 10 "laps" or events unobtrusively by pressing, say, the trackball while the device is in my hand. I don't need to see the display 'till I'm done and away from the worksite so I can even leave the stopwatch running if necessary, so long as the lap points are logged someplace.
I tried to convert brain genius and my old stopwatch app. using jar 2 alx and followed the instructions (and visual step-by-step guide) but get errors on both apps when I load them to my curve so I'm creating faulty conversions somehow.
Does anybody have any idea about similar apps for the 8310 or maybe some troubleshooting ideas for jar 2 alx? I followed the instructions exactly and got the results I would expect. Application loader recognizes my converted files and downloads them to the device no problem but they won't run.
I'm probably just being a bit overwhelmed by the newness of it all, thanks for the heads up.
