What do you need a usb plug for? You already have a USB cable.

I will buy it. Need one for the office and the bedroom. The OEM one from RIM does more than I want. I simply wnat to have the phone held up right and be charged at the same time. No extra bells and whistles required. Would like to see an extended battery and door!

NO, It will not charge the spare battery. It can hold and charge BB 8100 while it is in the cradle. It also allows you to dock BB 8100 without takig Seidio skin case or crystal /rubberized cases off.

To charge the spare battery, Seidio just releases multifunction spare battery/Travel charger.

MULTI-FUNCTION BATTERY CHARGER FOR BLACKBERRY - BD3-BCSI3BBX1-BK

i meant a slot on the cradle for usb for sync and mass storage use. with this, you have to "dock", then plug in your usb. isn't that defeat the purpose of a "docking"/cradle station??????

cradle to me = no messing with cables and deal with plug and unplug

The BlackBerrys don't have that option. You have to plug into the side with the USB cable. The docking station will only allow charging of the battery.

Seidio has designed the cradle so you do not have to take Seidio skin or crystal case off while it is in the cradle.

Hey Seidio,

Why didn't you make a cradle that is similar to the one you make for the 8700? Will you be making a cradle that can also sync without plugging in a wire every time?

What happened to the release of the desktop cradle last week? Do you have a new ETA on when it will be released?

Also, are you developing one that also connects to the USB port for data transfer, similar to the 8700 cradle?

We have a delay. it will be available next week.

Our 8700/7100 desktop cradle can work with BB 8100.

If you use our RIM universal desktop cradle, you need to connect the cable to the side mini USB so it can be charged.

With this new BB 8100 custom cradle, all yo have to do is to drop it into the cradle and get charged. Also, you can dock your BB 8100 with or without Seidio rubberized/crystal case and skin. No need to remove them to be charged in the cradle. very convenient !!

David, serious, $29.99 for the cradle and you won't include an USB cable? That's quite a lot don't you think ?
