Default How do you select multiple files?

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry if this should be common knowledge but I did a quick search and I'm not finding anything. I'm trying to basically backup my Pearl to my MacBook and I was trying to figure out if there's a way to select multiple files in the "explorer" for your media. In other words, can I send multiple pictures/ringtones via BT at the same time? Or can I attach multiple files at the same time in an e-mail so I don't have to do 1 at a time?

# key and scroll wheel works everywhere else, so I would assume it would work there as well, although I haven't tried it

You're right, it does work everywhere else (which is why I tried that first), but it doesn't work when browsing through media. I'm guessing there's no way to do it, although that seems rediculous that you wouldn't be able to.

Pressing down on the # key and using the trackball to scroll selects multiple files for me.

WTH am I doing wrong?... when I hold down the # key it just brings up the cap lock icon and keeps beeping... if i then (still holding down the # key) scroll using the trackball it just goes to the next item without selecting multiple files.

Well since no one seems to know how to do this, I guess it's not possible. That seems like a bug to me. I can think of numerous reasons why you'd want to select multiple files in the browser... transferring files, moving files, deleting files etc. It seems like this was overlooked by RIM. I just got a memory card yesterday and I wanted to move all of my pictures over to the card. Would have gone a lot faster if I didn't have to move each one individually. It also appears that you can't move folders. I hope some of these issues get addressed with an OTA update in the future.

Default No way to do this from handset..

I use "media manager" is the Desktop Software package, that way, you can multiple select files.

Why dont you enable mass storage mode on your Pearl, then go to my comp (or the mac equivalent) and then just use your mouse to select multiple items. Prob alot faster than bluetooth.

Default Mass media

So, unless I'm mistaken, "mass media mode" only lets you see the media card, not the device memory - where pictures from the camera are stored. This is the reason for using the Media Manager to get multiple selection...
