Rogers -- I should have known they would be full of misinformation and lag behind all the others!

We can still download the upgrades given in these threads -- and they do work, but we cannot call and get technical support if we have problems.

Anyone here have any updated word on Rogers support/release of OS 4.0?

Rogers isn't much help even if you do run a supported O/S.

They keep pushing the date back. Are they even really planning on releasing 4.0, or are we going to have start a class-action from all the lying, misinformation, and false advertising?

(Sorry, I know this seems very troll-ish, but I'm very frustrated with Verizon right now. J.D. Powers is wrong, that's all there is to it...)

Question: when Verizon finally rolls out 4.0, will the 7750 have at least a WAP browser, or any kind of browser? My Verizon sales rep told me that I needed to wait for the 4.0 upgrade, and then I could browse the web. I've seen some comments here saying that there is NO plan to have web browsing on CDMA 7750's. If that is the case, I'm taking this hunk a' junk back. My 4-year old Nokia could browse the web. My 3-year old Nokia had polyphonic ring tones and ring tone assignments. Why did I get a 7750?

Wait - you've got a Cingular 7290 with 4.0? The latest download online is 3.8.0.161. Is 4.0 hiding somewhere other than their main download page?

Default Bad IP_ADDRESS

Hello!

I just received my Verizon 7750 today and followed your instructions to upgrade to the 4.0 OS. I ran the OS installer, deleted the vendor.xml and then rand the desktop sync software. When I goto the browser and type in cnn.com it comes up with "Error Bad IP_ADDRESS."

I expect I made a mistake and will continue to search the forums, however if someone has any advice I would greatly appreciate some new information.

To NNovak: Cingular 7290, user, if you are using version 4.0.0.131, it is very buggy -- I would recommend downloading the newer 7290 version from Hong Kong. (I think it's 4.0.0.185, not 100% sure)

[Edited to clarify who this message is addressed to.]

Default VZW 7750

My BB is on Verizon Wireless and has the v4.0.0.171 (Platform 1.5.0.30) operating system installed. I downloaded the 4.0 OS from the "Telus" link in the sticky and think I'm using the most current version. The Cryptographic Kernel is v3.8.0.24.

1.) is this the best version and platform to use with verizon wireles for the BB 7750?
2.) is the crypto kernel supposed to be updated also?

Unfortunately I had not noted which crypto kernel was installed prior to my update; and I am wondering where I may download a v4 crypto kernel if such is available.

Default Vodafone UK 4.0 question

I've upgraded to vodafone 4.0 on my 7230 and have 2 questions:
1) Who can I empty the browser cache automatically (RBRO doesn't work anymore).
2) The browser 'translates' a numeric link on a web page as a phone number (e.g. http://wap.aaa.com/123456.wml) and is opening the SMS application. Can I change that? It's annoying to copy the link address and paste it manually (goto).

Default Bell Mobility OS 4.0

Where do I get Brick Breaker? On RIM's website, It mentions that Brick Breaker is included. However, when I installed the OS, brick breaker did not install.

On the phone today, the Black Berry person at t-mobile I was arguing with told me not to give up on t-mobile because 4.0 would be available mid February.

At this point, I don't trust them. He said that with that version, Web Client users will be able to view jpg attachments and the browser will be better.

I think I should have gotten an OGO and a regular phone with a better rate plan.

You have to check the box for brickbreaker during the install.

Those are part of the service books and not the OS, so they are safe.
