My son is currently roaming in Sweden. He has a Curve 9360, Talkmobile UK SIM card.
Funny thing is we can chat over BBM, but when I try to call him, the.....answering service kicks in. Weird...
Anybody have any clues. Pls help.

The phones answering service( voice mail)? If so the local carrier is having trouble with the call serivce and not the data service. He should call and ask why. Possible the carrier forgot something in the service setup.

Generally is a cell phone is in a bad area or the carrier is overloaded it will go to VM.

His account or device may have call blocking set up whilst roaming.

I think you are right dc/dc. I have to talk to him and ask him to enquire with Talkmobile. But why would they allow texting through BBM ??

BBM is a data service, text is a voice service.
