Default My Diary for connecting TMO Curve with new Router

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, my Dlink is outdated and outlet plug has been chewed up by my Yorkie so I am going to get a new one. I will be heading to my TMO store this morning to pick up the Linkysys router (you all suggested I get Linksys over Dlink). I am hoping I just plug it into my computer and do MINIMAL tweaking (unlike others I have read that seemed like cracking the Divinci code). Here I go.. Wish me luck!

How much are they selling the Linksys Router's there? I have my own linksys at home, W54RTG and it works fine and picks up the wifi. If its cheaper, purchase it at a store other than best buy. If not, then your all set at your original plan.

My Dlink DIR 655 seems to work fine without any configuring, even with torrents, and massive downloading. All I did was put in my wireless password.

Roughly $50 with a $50 rebate = FREE. However, when I went into a corporate store they told me I wasn't eligible for the discount since I wasn't subscribed to H@H. I then called T-MO CSR and without any hassles, they sent me mine for $49.99 with the rebate.

Diary continues...
Okay I just picked my Linksys router at my local TMO store. $49.99 and received $49.99 rebate form with no questions asked. (Picture attached below). Now, install time! Here I go!

I love your firewall located next to your router.

Your firewall looks like it really stays on top of its work. Very cute.

Ok, I'm back. I got this thing finally working after few glitches. Basically, you have to unplug the cable cord from the modem and reset all the hardwares. After this, everything worked fine! My laptop connects wirelessly and my Curve shows UMA and connected!! YAY!

I have major UMA/wifi issues using my AT&T supplied DSL modem router. That thing from T-Mobile looks sweet! I wonder if I would stop having UMA/wifi issues if I went ahead and spent the 50 bucks for that. Or do I wait and see if T-Mobile can come up with some cure-all for all the people out there with UMA/wifi problems?

They may not honor your rebate, if you read the fine print on the rebate it says you must be subscribed to H@H at the time the rebate is processed...

Does your UMA stay connected all the time while you are at home?

I know mine does... I haven't had any issues since the beginning.
