Ok so i seen last night that the Leaked OS .114 was up, i downloaded and installed, Deleted old OS off cpu (109) and Vendor.xml. Plugged in my Storm and opened Desktop Manager, for the first time it actually promted for an upgrade! missing the old reutine i accepted and went through with the steps.

After it was finished, DM said it finished with errors, which i didnt think to remember or write down. So ofcourse being a unlocked storm for Tmobile, i had to do the steps to get my browser and MMs working like always! anyways after i got through step 3, some uncaught exception i believe it was appeared on my phone (keep in mind that the instructions to getting browser icons back are very thorough, and "states" when you will see an error or "uncaught exception") which the author says is normal.

(sorry for typing so much) So i did get all icons back, but when i went to Options>Sim Card it said "Invalid Sim Card", My homescreen says "insert Sim Card" all my setting are correct so whats the deal? did i somehow fry my sim?
i heard .114 OS is crap to as of right now im downgrading but hopeing this fixes the issue, but please help just incase it doesnt. i need my phone!

did you get your storm from T-Mobile? if not It sounds like your storm was unlocked by a "software unlock" kinda like the iPhone when you upgrade the firmware it locks itself and you'll need to unlock it. humm i would say get a hardware unlocked nextime

ROFL, uh no silly. you cant get a storm from T-Mobile...
Its a Verizon Phone, i purchased an unlocked code a while back, now i use my tmobile sim card in it. come on people! this sucks!!!

The process shouldn't damage your SIM card. Go to Options>Advanced Options>SIM Card. Type mepd, then look at network. Does it say Inactive or Disabled?

i found a similar post in the search, a dude had pretty much the same problem, he just ended up getting a new sim. so i guess ill fly on over to t-mobile and ask for a new SIM or ill begin taking hostages

thanks anyways guys, but i think my SIM just got fried or something. Hopefully i wont have any problems with my new sim card in my unlocked phizzone, holla!

well i put my sim in my wifes curve and everything worked fine! so no probs with the SIM, ill try your suggestion


ok sorry yeah i use the same method but different thread. this is only for retrieving your browser icons and mms capabilities. when i upgraded last night to .114 it finished with errors and thats when i seen on my homescreen "insert sim card" ive upgraded in the past and never had any issues. but in the past ive used the apploader file in "RIM Folder" but since DM recognized the newer OS it prompted to upgrade so i did it through there. so i dont know.

Now what ive done was wipe my storm using JL_Cmmdr, now i have 507 error, DM wont load 109 nore will apploader so im stuck, this truly sucks.

ok i inserted my sim into my wifes phone and it works so its not my SIM, but still my storm cant read my SIM (Invalid SIM) i know once the phone is unlocked its unlocked forever right?

i also get this error:
"Uncaught Exception: Application Registry.WaitFor(0x3bc6259193b4b87c)Timeout"

Someone who thinks they know exactly how i could resolve this problem please stand up

You lost your browser? Thats weird! I downloaded .114 and when I installed it using the loader.exe file, I told it to wipe all applications and do not make a backup. Once the install was done, I noticed that my Browser and Tzones browser were still there. I was a little confused, but I just accepted it

no i didnt lose my browser, although i do everytime i update but that not my problem scotty boy, My phone says "Insert Sim Card"
and nothing, i mean nothing ive done changed it. i wiped it clean, loaded it back with .75, then loaded .109 and still everything else is fine except for the "Insert Sim Card" issue. my network says SOS, and going to SIM Card under advanced options, everything says "unknown" ..wierd! any other suggesstions??? please!
