my friend gave me his nextel i870 phone and went with a 7100i. and i was wondering if it would be possible to switch between my BB and the i870(swapping sim cards) becuase there are times where im doing activites where i dont want to put my BB in danger(i.e. running) so would it hurt either of the phones, if i swapped the sim from my BB to the i870 for a while and then swapped them back?

You should be able to take the BlackBerry SIM and use it in the i870. The reverse is not true. You can not take i870 SIM card and have it work in the BlackBerry.

Actually it should work just fine. I took the sim card from my 870 and put it in my 7100 and had no problems. You might get a sim error sometimes though as the BB prefers a sim that ends in 330 (I think that's the number)

it will work.bought a 7100i on this form and called up nextel put the data plan on my acct and put the sim from my 860 in it and it works just fine.nextel said its the same sim.and i have the one that came with the bb and he said you dont have to switch it.
