Space Before Signature
Please Login to Remove!
Well, a search has turned up nothing that seems to work, so here's the situation: I have added several e-mail accounts to my 9930 via the device setup options (I can't access the Verizon BIS portal as it tells me I have to use my device to manage e-mail accounts... an OS 7 thing I assume). Anyway, I have added a signature, but when I test it, the signature is jammed up against the last line of the e-mail.
I add a space and then a return to the first line of the signature, but the device immediately strips out the space and the return when I save changes. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do to add a single line between the last line of the e-mail and the first line of the signature.
Well, obviously I could add a return at the end when I am composing an e-mail, but I'm looking for the automated solution, please.
Anyone?

Re: Space Before Signature
My 9000 does what you're describing as well with OS v5.x. Maybe a possible alternative is to use hyphens instead of spaces like:

EDIT: Just realized the hyphens got stripped after sending the first test message... Strange.

Re: Space Before Signature
I created my signatures via the BIS page at Sprint. Leaving a blank line at the beginning made a space for me. Maybe it's a Verizon thing?

Re: Space Before Signature
Might be. I can't even access the web portal for Verizon to change my BIS e-mail settings.

Odd. I added dashes and they stuck. So, looks like dashes will do the trick. Thanks.

Re: Space Before Signature
I can access the Verizon BIS page just fine, don't think it is a Verizon or OS 7 problem.

Re: Space Before Signature
Hm... what is the URL that you use? When I go to https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw and try and create a new account (I'm a new Verizon customer), after entering my device details I am told that I can not access the web portal and need to manage e-mail accounts directly on my device.

Re: Space Before Signature
Yeah that is the same page that I am going to and it works fine, I am not sure why it won't do it for you. Can you log into that page with your Blackberry ID info you already set up on the device?

Re: Space Before Signature
Nope. Create a new account = must use device. Login with BBID = Wrong username/password.

Re: Space Before Signature
Mine did that for the second device I received it wouldn't let me create a new account or the Verizon rep. He forced it to go through by using their Admin tool they have access to, so sadly you might have to give them a call if you want access via web.

Re: Space Before Signature
Hm... the mystery deepens. I just requested my password be sent to me via the Verizon BIS page, and it was. Well, more specifically, I received a message. However, the message was sent to UNKNOWN e-mail address, and the message indicated that my password is:
Nothing. Very odd.

Re: Space Before Signature
I'm on the phone with Verizon now. On a side note, this is the second support call I have made to Verizon in as many days. Perhaps I'm just lucky, but the customer service is significantly better than what I get with AT&T. World of difference in attitude, wait time, etc. Impressive.

But with AT&T, you can use the BIS website from a PC. Just sayin....

Re: Space Before Signature
True. True.
Verizon got it all worked out, and I now have access to the Verizon BIS portal. The rep indicated that an account was there, but it was corrupt. No idea why. On a side note, the whole space before the signature issue has also been resolved now that my BIS account has been reset.
All is right with the world once again. And I'm part of the cool kids group! Yay!
