Default My Curve 8320 loads 8310 OS problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a strange problem with my BB Curve 8320. I updated the OS with the DM, then several days later I realized that the software installed is from 8310, that why I couldn't find the Wi-Fi connection under "Manage Connections".

I have tried downloading the OS for 8320, installed it and plugged my BB with DM to update the OS into 8320, but I'm always prompted to update to 8310.

Please help! Thx in advance

Go to Options / About.
What type of BB does it show.

It cannot, will not and will NEVER try to load 8310 software onto an 8320.

It says: Blackberry 8310....
and the cellphone is indeed a 8320.

No it isn't.
If options / about says it is an 8310, then it is an 8310.

You can't "flash" or "hack" and 8320 to make it "appear to be" an 8310.

You have an 8310. Hence no WiFi.

I must also say that several days before updating my 8320, someone updated his 8310 in my same computer via DM. Could that be the problem? Is there any way to fix this or restore the BB software to original without DM? It is like my fifth time trying to update but always displays "Blackberry Curve 8310" in Options-About after finishing the update. I miss my wi-fi.

In fact, I have an 8310 too here, and an 8320 that had Wi-Fi which is the one that has the problems. The other problem is that I updated my girlfriend's 8320 too and is having the same problem "appearing to be" 8310 and wi´fi connection not displayed.
I have tried with service books but nothing. My service provider suggested me to re-update but nothing works.

Wirelessly posted

Take out the battery of you BlackBerry and look what the model number is indicated on the sticker.

As stated before it impossible to flash a BlackBerry with an OS that was not designed for that model.

Sorry. The one that sold me this cellphone has tricked me with the cover's color with which we are friendly to recognize the 8320, but it is indeed an 8310.

Thanks for your enlightening!

Since it was an 8310, it never had WiFi.

Its very unfortunate that you were tricked. You should insist on some form of compensation. If you wanted and paid for a BlackBerry 8320, then you should demand it or ask for a refund of the difference.

Wirelessly posted (curv 8310)

So how did you have wifi on the 8310? You said you miss it like you used it a lot. So how did you do that?

I was really tricked by someone in my family who doesn't know a thing about cellphones, did it unintentionally, therefore I will get my compensation without demands.

When I said I missed my Wi-Fi, I mean that because of my former 8120. No trick for Wi-Fi on 8310.
