my phone always turns its self off and i heard if you update the software it will start running normal again. So i started the update my phone and half way through my blackberry turned off and now it wont turn back on, only the light at the top flashes red all the time. what do i do?!
please help!!!

First, there can be other reasons the BlackBerry was shutting off. Did you try to narrow it down before attempting an OS upgrade? If so, what did you do and with what result?

It could be you have a power problem, either with the battery or with the device. You need to make sure you have a good battery and that the battery contacts are staying in contact with the contacts on the device.

Your BlackBerry may also be physically damaged. If you've dropped it hard or gotten in wet or exposed it to moisture, then damage is a more likely answer. Or, some component may just be failing.

Make sure you have a good battery. Remove the microSD card, if you have one, and try wiping the device with JL_CMDER (search). That will leave you with a 507 error. Then try installing the OS. See what happens.

It might also be a good idea to do the OS upgrade via a PC and not OTA. Download the update then use JL to do it. a lot faster and avoids any carrier issues.
