Ok...so I can't get the 7130g software to load on a 7100t. Can anyone shed any light on that? Is it just not compatible? TMobile is about the only carrier to make 7100 software available anymore. Must be time for a new BB. Any suggestions?

On my computer I have 4.0 and BB OS is 4.0 as well. I would like to upgrade the BB to 4.1 Do I have to upgrade both desktop and BB seperately? The download from Cingular has only 1 file.

Also, are there any additional passwords, etc. needed for installation. This is a corporate device and I don't want to mess it up.

thanks
Yes, you have to upgrade both the Desktop and the Handheld software in order to upgrade the Handheld software (4.1). My device is a 7250 and we are using BES 4.0. So, my device is a corporate device.

Rogers is now offering OS v4.1.0.379 for the 7290. The first post should be updated.

No; you can not unbrand a phone.

I updated my 7100t to Cingular's 4.1.0.292. I modified the .alx file to give me all the packaged themes plus a few extras I've extracted from other OS's (I guess I renivented the wheel cuz I found jibi's thread on that after I did all that work..oh well). My question is this: I'm missing the preloaded pictures for background images. My personal ones are there but the default (locked) pics are gone. The filenames are there with a placeholder and they show a size of -1B. Anyone have any ideas how to get them back? I'm running the Zen theme...if it matters.

I've updated my 7100t to the new OS 4.1.0.309 on Tmobile. Features are great and everything is seemingly working, other than the voice. Everyone I've spoken with hears poor voice quality (very very distant) but I can hear them fine. I've tried re-installing the OS but have not tried downgrading as I can not find the files anywhere. This is using the regular device mic as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

You could try Cingular's version. I am running it on my 7100t and haven't had any complaints from anyone. I got it from the link on the first post of this thread. My only complaint is that the preloaded pics are gone...haven't figured out why yet.

What's the latest system software I should load on my 7130c? I see that the cingular software version xxxxx.401 is higher than the version for t-mobile, but the applications version for t-mobile is higher than the application version for the cingular software.

T-Mobile does not offer software for the 7130c. You can not take software for one species of BlackBerry (7105t, for example) and put it on a another (7130c).

Thanks for the suggestion!!! I loaded the Cingular OS but still have been getting comments of sounding quite distant. I'll continue to mess around with it.

Ok. Thanks. Is the Cingular OS for 7130 the most recent version?

As far as I know, 8700 firmwares are interchangeable among 8700 regardless of letter, but not interchangeable with 8703 and not interchangeable with 8707.

So you can use 8700r firmware on 8700g's, but not on 8703 or 8707.

(Unless I am proven otherwise -- Not willing to test an 8707 firmware on 8700 and vice-versa. These are both GSM based 8700 series, that may use incompatible firmwares)

The XML files keep you from loading the wrong firmware. Vendor.xml keeps the vendors in check and I think the device.xml does for making sure you don't load the wrong device firmware.

Hi everybody,

Does anyone know the firmware download link for Vodafone FR (SFR).

I have to upgrade a 7290 to OS 4.1 but i'm not sure the UK version work on a french one (different APN probably or something like that).

So I need your opinions

May the force be with BB users ;)

New OS for 8700G will be released soon, I was able to get it from Tmobile engineer. This is to correct the issue with losing coverage / having to frequently turn the antenna off and on. its called 4.1.0.346.
