I see all of you guys having problems with the MyFaves app. I have to say that I've had no problems with it on any of the 4.5 builds. This latest one is the best for me so far and I have a lot more free memory.

Don't recall what free memory was in my last 2 OS versions, but in this one I am here:

3639607 bytes (informal notation: kilobyte = 1024 bytes)
bytes 3639607
megabits 27.7679977416992

Which means it is probably driving TMO nuts as the behavior is not consistent among 8320s which is delaying things even further.
I have had the same issue in every 4.5 version I have installed on three different 8320s.

After the upgrade from 4.2.xxx to 4.5.0.81 the memory status is File Free 14526418 Bytes ... what does it mean? 14 MB? Is that normal/acceptable?

judging by the thread title, i highly doubt it, but as with any upgrades, you do so at your own risk.

Doubtful. These errors are usually caused by 3rd party apps. Most testing is done a wiped device and backups not stored.

No. OS are device specific which means this thread is only for the 8320.
You will need an OS for the 8330.

I had no problems either, until this build. It's odd that it's not affecting everyone. I have a theory I'm about to test. I'll post back with the results.

Interesting observation John - next upgrade, I will wipe with JLCmder and install nothing but the OS and see if I have the same problem with myFaves.

I re-installed .81 and this time, MyFaves works fine. What did I do different? I realized after the fact, that I had forgotten to uninstall the handset OS from Windows Control Panel before installing .81. That's the only thing that I had done differently (and foolishly) this time with .81. So, I uninstalled .81 via Windows Control Panel, re-installed it, deleted the vendor.xml file, reconnected the device, and then did a data backup, erase, install and restore. It works fine now. Anyone else having the MyFaves issue also forget to uninstall first?

You're saying you forgot to uninstall .69 before installing .81? I can tell you that that is not the reason. That would have no effect. I have the last 3 or 4 OS's still installed on my computer.

Gotcha. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Normally, I always uninstall the previous device software from within Control Panel, before installing the new one. My forgetting to do that this time was coincident with the issue, so I thought, just maybe that was it. In any case, the second install did work, so that's all that matters.
Edit: Interesting too, was that when I did the uninstall from the Control Panel, it took two "uninstalls" to remove what was just one entry for the BlackBerry Device software. Maybe this was a Windows issue?

OK - now you are going to make me wipe and reinstall with no backup/restore this weekend - just a clean OS and reactivate on the BES. Will report back if myFaves works.

When I fired up the Desktop software, it didn't detect an upgrade or downgrade, so I chose manual options to backup, erase, install, and restore. I forget exactly what I selected, but it can all be done from within BlackBerry Desktop. In my case, I did not go back to clean. Well, I did essentially, but I restored my apps/data back after the erase/install. And yeah, it's amazing the lengths we'll go to.

Installed this after running .69 and I would have to concur that it feels a bit "snappier" for lack of any other specifics.
One problem on both versions though: I can't seem to get "HTML email" to turn on... >Options>Email Settings - "Enable HTML Email" is set to No with no option to change it. In fact, there is what looks like a teenie red padlock next to the "No" setting. Am I missing something stupidly obvious??

It sounds like your BES does not support HTML email yet.

This update is a disaster. Wi-fi not working anymore after always working flawlessly with other versions and BB Messenger disappeared..
