Question Wirelessly Syncing Corp Name & Address Book?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys

I have a customer with a BES server and approx 50 Blackberry users a further 150 standard/office based mail users in the organisation.

The Blackberry users have a Personal Address book AND a corporate one and the customer wants to wirelessly sync the corporate address book rather than using the Lookup facility.

Does anyone know if this is possible, or if there's a 3rd party application that can integrate with BES to do this?
I've been told that replicating corporate address books isn't possible, and I appreciate that in an organisation with several thousand contacts may not be practical, however, as the customer has a relatively small number of mail users (200) I can't see it couldn't be achieved somehow.

They are having lots of problems with corporate email addresses not being updated on the blackbery devices.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The user can only sync one address book. Either personal or corporate, not both. Explain to the user that the advantage of lookup is that what you get is always up to date.

Multiple address books is something that would be a great feature to add to BES in the future. We went from Palm based PDAs to BlackBerries and love the BBs. But the software we used to sync our Lotus Notes and Palm (Pylon) supported multiple address books, so we have lost that. The remote lookup is not bad, but we had some folks with up to 4 address books that they synced. Pylon used categories to keep the address books straight. Worked very well.

Also, if you choose to copy down someones address from the corp, and then something later changes, such as an extension or cell phone, you have to manually resave it. Never had to worry about this with the PDAs, but now we do.
