You can sometimes convince the AT&T (formerly Cingular) BB Tech Support reps to open a "free" case with Research In Motion for you. But they 1. won't always do it 2. want to run you through all of the "pull the battery for 30 seconds," resend the service books, etc drills first. So it's more time consuming than having TSupport with RIM and opening a case yourself.
T-Moblie and Nextel have done the same for me in the past. Now, we have Tx2 support with RIM, so I just open a case directly.
Rogers Wireless is known to be an expensive carrier (compared to U.S. carriers). It's good to see that you get some extra benefits for your money $$$.
