Just a quick question here. I wanted to make sure that I can run SQL express and BES 4.1.7 on the same server. Right now we are using SQL 2005 as the DB but are upgrading it to SQL 2008 and BES 4.1.7 does not support SQL 2008. The plan is to temporarily move the DB to SQL express on the BES server until we can upgrade BES to 5.0.2 early next year. We have about 100 users, if that makes a difference.

Yes, BES 4.1.7 and SQL Express can run on the same server.

Yes DB backups will be done for sure. I have the guides for moving DB's so all should go well.
