I've never used Windows Mobile. My Blackberry is my first smartphone.
NJBlackBerry, maybe you can fill me in... what, in your opinion, were their best updates? Please name a few, if you can. I'm thinking there really isn't much to say other than HTML email and Docs To Go, if you consider those significant.

I think RIM should speed up the roadmap for BIS because otherwise will lose shares of the market in favour of Iphone.

RIM will speed up there BIS roadmap if they plan on taking the consumer market faster... Of course I am sure their is only so much they can do at a time.

I just switched from an HTC Touch (Win Mobile 6.1) to a Blackberry Storm. I am very disappointed that BB does not have better email abilities. It is very odd to me that the biggest name in mobile data and communication devices has an in-and-out-only system. With a WM device you get true email handling ability. Emails can be filtered into folders and managed as they would in any email interface, (Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc..). You get to access your enitre email account, not just whats been delivered to your handheld.

I certainly did not expect that I would have to use the mobile browser to manage my emails on a device that was supposed to be more capable than my HTC....

What your asking for takes place when using a Blackberry Enterprise server, if your using any sort of freemail or using an exchange server and accessing your corporate email through the BIS using OWA, you get limited sync abilities. As far as windows mobile having better capabilities than a blackberry, windows push is maybe close but overall, RIM dwarfs the competition!!

Maybe BES is the best but as a BIS user I think the system needs a good boost of functionalities.

There are a large numbers of consumers, self-employeds and small companies that cannot afford the BES but not much appealed any more to BIS.

On that same note, BPS gives one free liscense and we have Unite! now.

i don't get this push e-mail thing. my e-mail comes usually faster on my blackberry than ir does on gmail. and i can delete it on gmial from my phone. isn't how it's supposed to work?

Go delete a GMail email from the PC, or delete 100 from the PC. The 100 deleted emails stay on your BB.

On yahoo, once you delete from the PC, within like 5 seconds, I see the email deleted from the BB. THIS IS WHAT I EXPECT TO HAPPEN.

Yahoo is more intergrated with BIS then yahoo, BIS 2.6 should make GMail a bit better.

Hopefully we will have BIS 2.6 by the end of the month (rumor has it).
