Not really the same thing now, is it. There are no new BBs for Nextel because iden has a very small amount of BB users and lets face it, is a dying network. It doesn't sense to develop an iden device for such a small market share. Verizon on the other hand probably has the majority of U.S. BB users, ATT may have more, not sure on that, so it would make sense to release a big seller into that market of users.

I know. I used to be a Nextel user myself. I left because the coverage sucked and I was tired of the crappy Motorola handsets.

I just talked to Sprint in a local store and the guy told me a Curve is coming in 08 now the question is when if he is correct. They where out of 8830's more this week and the pearls won't be in till the first of the year. They stated Verizon had the rights to it. I am thinking more and more that sprint will announce the Curve at CES in Jan.

i think alot of people would be upset if Sprint does not get the Curve...I'm hoping it will happen ... the sooner the better. And Verizon should get it too...I don't understand why Sprint seems to be behind everyone else...I love Sprint but it is very frustrating

Didn't you just get the Pearl and your intrested in the Curve? I guess would like the camera of the pearl but like the idea of a full keyboard. hmmm... mashed together and you have a curve.

BlackBerry Curve World Edition for CDMA networks | The Boy Genius Report

Crackberry

<Curve coming to Sprint in '08. - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

according to these two links both have talked to Sprint higher up reps and both are saying announcement of a Curve or other devices on Jan 13 with roll out the end of January.(30ish) I am holding off isn't CES that 2nd or 3rd week of January? It would be a great place to launch a new CDMA Sprint Curve.

thanks Amy for the links.

I was just thinking Q-chat is supposed to launch 1st quarter of 08 and the interviews with Sprint on you tube stated they would be partnering wth palm, Rim , windows to have device that would work with q-chat or the new push to talk .
Don't you think it is possible that the new curve on Sprint could be q-chat compatible as the ATT Curve has push to talk? It would only make sense that you could talk to you buddy's on nextels network using your backwards compatible Sprint Curve with Q-Chat. What do you guys think? This could really sell the Curve as I know of alot of older BB users on the I7100 that are waiting for a new push to talk BB this could spark alot of switch overs .

We just spoke with our Sprint/Nextel rep and she told us that the Blackberry Curve would be out in the second quarter of the year. The president of my company wants the PTT feature as well as the PDA. When I showed him my 7100i he wasn't impresed and asked if there was a newer model.

Called the rep and she said the pearl would be out with the PTT feature in the second quarter..... Woo Hoo

Pearl with PTT would be great so is that a sprint phone or a Nextel phone?

It's suposed to be the Curve which I guess is like the Pearl. But it will have PTT according to the sales rep. But like most sales people if there mouth is moving when they talk, they must be lying.
