Default Little nxtl showing instead of NXTL - Boost question

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry for the boost questions...I'm new to this and if you could give me a hand I'd really appreciate it. I just received a 7520 in the mail, popped my boost sim into it and nothing works. The signal meter says "nxtl" instead of "NXTL" and when I try and make a call it says "emergency calls only." Any suggestions? Thanks a ton! ~Tom.

Do you have your new device activated with Boost? I believe thay may to register the ESN in their system for your device to work.

Yes, updated my acct with that info. I still cannot get a NXTL signal and my phone says "call failed" every time now. I wiped it, put a blank policy in it, and i'm still having problems. I can't make any phone calls. I don't much care about the internet issues right now, just the phone part would be nice. Any ideas??

You will never ever ever get NXTL with a Boost SIM card. NXTL only shows up with a BlackBerry data plan which you cannot get on Boost Mobile.

Ok, NXTL or not....should be able to make calls, right? From what I understood, the NXTL would show up no matter what. I guess I must be doing something wrong. I've tried two boost sim cards in two blackberrys with no avail. ugh no fun.

An eBay purchase? It may be bad hardware. If you can't make a call, you probably should return the phone.

Yes, it was an ebay purchase but I've had two of them...neither one of them worked.
