Default Signal Strength

I have an 8320 and now the 8900. I dont think the 8900 gets a signal as good as the 8320!

This is hardly the fault of the 8900. Not really fair to label this as a "dis-like". Here in Arizona (and a lot of other places I hear), ATT coverage sucks. That isn't a knock on the Bold.

I LOVE my 8900. It is the best Blackberry ever - so worth the wait! It feels so good in my hand and the screen is absolutely stunning!

I just made the move from Palm/ Treo after many years. Played with the iphone and G1 for some time, but the 8900 is the best by far. I love this thing!

================================================== =

I plan on doing the same this weekend with an 8900 purchase. Have you been able to transfer your contact info from the Treo to the 8900 and if so, how did you do it?

Default Reception reduction?

I also tinkered around with an 8900 at our local T-Mobile Store and noticed (in a side by side comparison), that the 8900 didn't have the same signal strength as my 8320 (8900 weaker by a couple of bars).

Wonder why you'd see that? Maybe OS version? I'm running.152, and RF has been better for me with this than with my 8300.

That is from true, live/real time/actual side by side comparison of my 8320 and my 8900. Different SIMs (duh) both with Tmo, both with hot batteries.
The 8900 is at least equal if not better coverage so far

I have been texting, browsing, and playing on mine a lot today, all day yesterday, and the day before that some. I haven't put it down to charge since Sunday night (took it off Monday morning when I woke). It is showing 40% battery. It has been plugged into my PC a few times, but never for more than ~2 minutes. How does that suck?

Doesn't the trackball or keypad light up?

Why is the ball black instead of pearl white? And the keypad looks dim...

The trackball is "back lit" so the light leaks around the edge of it.
Quick shot in low light:

A bit light on details, eh?

Battery life on mine has been great with .152:

Running BBWeather, JiveTalk, Viigo, Facebook around the clock. Lots of IM, Facebook, Email, web browsing and phone calls all day. On battery from about 6:30am until midnight every day -- and just before I plug it into the charger at midnight, I have yet to see the battery charge below about 75%.

For me, battery life does *not* suck.
