I've seen a quite a few threads on this but my problem seems a little unique.
I dropped the phone the other night and after trying to reboot (the battery fell out, so I guess it was a 'forced' battery pull'), I got the white screen with Error 523.
I have managed to get access to my apps through the Application Loader and deleted all of them - yet I still get the same screen.
If I reboot I can briefly get to my home page but a message says "! Media Card Inserted", then it goes back to the white screen. On a couple of occasions before this I got the "Uncaught Exception Index 5 5" message, then it would go back to the white screen. This message hasn't appeared for a while now and it is the Media Card Inserted message that remains.
When I take out the media card, it will not boot to the homepage but eventually go straight to the white screen 523 message.
I thought a last ditch method would be to reinstall v5 OS but I am having difficulty maintaining the connection.
The funny thing is, The Application Loader and Device Manager can both recognise the USB Pin of the phone.
Any suggestions to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
I have searched all over for an answer and had no luck.
Through the device manager it will not establish a connection, yet through the application uploader I have managed to get into the applications and get rid of all of them. 523 refers to an app problem causing the issue, so as I now have none left, I don't understand why it persists.
When I reboot with the phone attached to the PC connecting to the Uploader, the BB will boot succesfully to my home page, display Media Card Inserted, then go back to the white screen, 523 Reset.
The problem I have with going ahead to wipe the phone is that I cannot connect to the Device Manager to back up my contacts etc!
This continues to confuse me. I went through the various tips but had no change in the connection via my laptop.
I DL the V5 Device Manager onto my PC (I used V6 on my laptop) and no real difference. It did say device connected but with no pin, yet on my laptop I can get the pin number but no firm connection (although I can connect through the Application Uploader).
I continue to reset, timer, home page, Media Card Inserted message, then back to white screen.
This is why I think it's unique, I haven't seen these symptoms elsewhere, particularly the Media Card Inserted message. The only comparable thing I've seen is an error message for the media card but I do not get that.
I'm still no closer to backing up my contacts before I can wipe the current OS.
