£68.00 ($122) :( I've hidden the bill from the wife :(

Maybe I'll contact Vodafone UK for a new plan :(

What's your bill like?

Mine are around U$200 just for overages. Luckily I'm unattached, so i don't have to hide the bill from anybody. My data limit is 25MB per month, and on average I use between 50 to 60MB. If my provider doesn't adjust bandwidth allowances soon, I'll have to think of alternatives.

US$200.. hmm.. Can you explain why your usage is so high? Seems like a lot. Do you use verichat, download via the browser, etc?

Hi ShaneToronto, I use verichat for IM and idokorro as an ssh client (to keep an eye on a network I administer and to IRC), and both are on 24/7. I don't do any web browsing or downloading with the blackberry at all. Yeah it's not cheap. Hopefully Rogers will change the limit soon, because 25MB, which they call "unlimited" hahaha, is not generous, as they call it. It might have been, on older, slower handhelds with fewer capabilities.
I'll pm you a link to the "over 25MB club" that Mark Rejhon started way back when.

Happy blackberrying

Correction, it is around U$200 per month for overages AND the regular monthly fee, sorry about that.

hmm. a little concerned here. I have a corporate plan through rogers, so I save quite a bit, but the costs can still be huge if I get into the 50-60 MB club.

I checked out the over 25 club- thanks for the email! Seems like there are lots of mixed reaction as to whether 25mb is a lot or too little. I guess for me, time will tell.

I pay about $110 a month for 800 anytime minutes, unlimited evening and weekends, and unlimited data (and Verizon does mean unlimited). This would be just for my BB, my wife's cell phone is also on the this account.

I have a 7520 through Telus Mike. The device was free, and the plan I am on works out to $120/CAD ($100/USD) a month. I only ever go over on long distance.

It includes (listed in CAD):

$85.00 - 450 daytime minutes or 200 direct connect, unlimited bandwidth (Yes, actually unlimited too)

$5.00 - Unlimited evenings/weekends (6:00pm - 7:00am)

$7.00 - Calling waiting, voicemail, caller ID, etc

$7.25 - License fees

$15.74 - Taxes

I pay $244 a month, but that is for 2 blackberries, and 2 cell phones. We have a family plan, my wife and I get the blackberries. We have unlimited data on the blackberries, and then all the phones share from a pool of 2000 anytime minutes and 5000 night and weekend. We use Alltel. When you break it down, it is really only $61 a month per phone.

Now that I think about it, I have never checked, but I wonder if SMS messages are included in my unlimited data plan? Anybody know?

I don't know about other providers, but with Nextel, SMS is NOT included in unlimited data plan.

I have five phones, Three BB's and 2 i860 and my bill including taxes is $415, something like that. All my BB's are on the Unlimited Plan. I myself hit 55 mb of data last month, my wife 46, my son 50. If not for Unlimited Plan, my bill would be way more than this.

Always go wiht the Unlimited Plan, well worth the money!!

Cingular with 7290:

Unlimited BB Plan 44.99
1000 SMS 9.99
450 anytime rollback minutes and 5000 N&W minutes 39.99

Before taxes my total charges are $85, so just under $100 with taxes since it varies month by month. The unlimited BB plan doesnt offer coverage for stuff such as Verichat when you do not have BES, but I never use that anyways so it's fine for me.

From what I saw, T-Mobile has the cheapest BB package. 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited SMS, unlimited data, unlimited N&W mins for something like 79.99. Personally they were the provider I was going to go with but my deposit with Cingular was cheaper at the time.
