Default BB 8110 is slow

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a 8gb sandisk memory card and loaded my mp3's onto it. I still have almost a gig of free space but for some reason my BB is sluggish and responding really slow.... Any input on why this is happening? I know the card is compatible because I got it from the AT&T store and it says it works with the 8110.....

When your BB is connected by USB, use Windows Explorer to have a look at the card. If all you see is the legitimate stuff you expect, on to the next step.

Go to the music folder, pick a song and let the Windows Media Player play it. Is the delay time about the same as the handset? If so, you're just dealing with memory access time and player buffering - it's never instant.

When I have the BB plugged into the computer through the usb I am able to access the mp3's and play then instantly. THERE IS NO DELAY WHEN IT'S PLUGGED IN. But when it's unplugged and the memory card has mp3's on it then the phone is slow no matter what I am doing with it. Here are the steps I have already tried...

1. I deleted enough songs so I have a gig of free space left on the card.
2. I have reformatted the card and reloaded the songs.
3. I have cycled the phone on and off to make sure it has a fresh start with the card.

Still the phone is very slow. When I take the memory card out it runs fine. When the memory card is empty it runs fine. It only becomes sluggish when I fill up the card with mp3's.

Well from what I understand working with sprint, ANY carriers blackberry pearl works best with a 2GB card... anything bigger isn't guaranteed to work
