Default 7130e mp3 ringtone issue...

Please Login to Remove!

I am curious to see if anyone else is having this issue. I have about 10 mp3 ringtones on my 7130e. They all work fine. I can set them up as ringtones, no problem. The problem is, is that after a certain period of time (not sure of how long it takes) they stop working. Meaning, I dont hear anything when I use one as a ringtone, or one as a notifyer for email, or anything. The sound is basically mute. To get the sound back, I have to pull the battery. I noticed this happening almost daily now. Does anyone else experience the same thing? Any resolutions?

Mine work the same way. That's why I don't use them anymore. I have the Motorola E815 .mid tones which work perfectly.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I'll back you up on this. I have given up on them until the next firmware release because they crap out like you describe.

Lets hope Verizon sees this, and fixes it with the next software.

I don't really see this as a carrier issue. The mp3's do play once downloaded and even saved. What happens is over time (day, week, # of plays) the ringtones stop working. The only way to fix it is to pull the battery. Then it happens all over again.

Its definately the OS and/or the 7130 itself. Maybe others haven't experienced it yet. What is the OS version you are running on Bell?

He probably has the newer bell revision. Its newer then Verizon at least. I know some have installed it on their verizon 7130's without issue. I wonder if that fixes our problem..hmmmm

I am a new Blackberry user and not that familiar with the download process for ringtones. Could you give me a simple step by step way to load ringtones? It is a 7130e with Verizon as my carrier.

Well with all the EVDO problems recently, I'm afraid to load the newer 4.1 until Verizon issues(?) an update. For now I'll stick with the midi from my old Moto E815

I think I can pinpoint this problem to a number of times, rather then a period of time, the ringtone plays.

I changed my email tone back to one of the built in notifyer tones, since I get more emails then phone calls (between 200 and 500 a day).

I havent had to pull the battery for 3 days now, with phone calls as well (using an mp3 ringtone for phone calls.)

We will see how long it lasts.. I will keep you guys updated. I wonder if Verizon plans on releasing new firmware soon. I know they are the slowest when it comes to updates (I think there was only one for my 7250 in a year), but maybe they will see these minor issues and fix them.
