you should enable your 'mapoptions' to see the hidden files (also system files) and then search for Vendor.xml ;you'll find one in the VirtualStore (if you have vista of win7) you'll have to delete that to...
you also have to go to edit your DM installation, to disable the automatic update option...just go to uninstal a program, click on the DM, press modify, run the instal unbox the automatic update box, and also unable it to automatic update... (you'll see the red 'X' in screen if its unabled)
succes...!

Quick pull does not work with this anymore and now I am finding that my memory is being eaten up like crazy! No new apps have been installed either so I don't know what is doing this. I may have to consider downgrading the OS.

So far, I have no problem after upgrade. all apps and mails are working fine, include BES email. I like the new key indicator feature, means it displays the key you are intended to press above your finger(s).....

Yes. just like the iPhone and LG Touch does, the key indicator pups up as you type. There is new settings under "Screen/Keyboard" called Key Indicator.
I did my upgrade under Windows XP, just download the pack, installed it, delete vendor.xml file, then plug the phone in, launch the Loader.exe. Exactly as said in first post. No need of DM on the PC.

This is where mine is located. I'm on Windows & 64bit.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
If you're not using a 64bit Windows version, it should just be Program Files, with out the (x86).

Did you remove all prior OS versions. And did you do a search of hidden files, for the vendor file and also empty the recycle bin.

9530 or 9520 ?
Should this upgrade also work for 9520 ? Or am I stuck at 5.0.0.306
Which is not as stable as my old Bold
I Don't get it to work. Most of the time my desktop Man. mentioned that there is no update. While having the 674 installed. One time I got the error about a Corporate device.
It is a corporate device with Gmail and A Bis Account as well.
Any suggestions would be appriciated.

So far, the new OS works fine with my Verizon 9530. The only thing that I have found that is not working, that is "Application Center", it is empty, it you select sync, it indicates that "wireless service is out of range". I would assume that is due to OS package is from the other carrier other than Verizon.... Since I really don't care about the "Application Center", to me it is no issue for me.
During the upgrade, I also selected to install "Google Talk", however, I couldn't find the "Google talk" any where on the 9530 after upgrade. Again, not something that really needed, just try to experience it.
If anyone has any suggestion or insight on those two issues, please share your experiences. Other than that, everything works smooth and flawlessly so far.

I do not have to downgrade. I figured out how to get Quick Pull to work again. I had to go into edit permissions. Works like a charm now. I also figured out that I cannot run animated themes on my phone....that is what is eating up my memory like crazy. Other than that, I love this upgrade. I like the fact that I can now see the letters before I actually type them....great new feature!

Nope, you need the OS for the 9520. Check the top of this forum.
