When I download the link and install it, it says the wizard is to install v4.7.0 not .113. Also, after removing the vendor file and running the loader.exe nothing really happens. It does not take the 45 mins as described, only about 5secs and the software on the device does not change. I am following the instructions to a T. Anyone help me out?

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Maybe I'm missing something here but I dont seem to see how this installs it to my phone. I do everything in the above steps but when I open the loader I see no option to install the new OS and when I click next it says not actions were taken can someone help?

Here's what I did.
downloaded .113 to my computer, ran the exe.
Deleted the vendor file.
Plugged in my bb.
Desktop manager ran, and said there was an update available.
Did a backup, and installed the update.
It took 38 minutes.

Now my camera is much faster, and controls are transparent.
There is no typing lag.
All my apps work correctly.

Will report on how to battery does, and if my texting issue went away.
Will also report on memory loss. This was a really annoying problem on my device, probably due to all of the apps I use. I would go from 38 mb down to 7 in about 4 hours.

My texting issues was: While typing the keyboard would minimize and I wouldn't have the option to bring it back. The bb button wouldn't pop up the menu, and I would have to "hang up" and go back into SMS to type the msg again.

So far no problems, and I'm loving the speed.

Hi everyone!

I am a newbie in the Blackberry world and there are still a lot of things that surprise me in my new Storm. I really like it but as a real technical geek, I can find the flaws in every piece of machinery I get my hands to. So, in spite of being overjoyed, I can see several issues that have annoyed me a bit, so far:

Thanks to you people, I have just upgraded from .78 to .113 version of the OS yesterdat and I find it really faster and more responsive, and what is more, the battery life seems to last longer. I still miss several things:

1. Most important to me - Cyrillic, or as it is more popular - Russian keyboard. We in Bulgaria also use the cyrillic alphabet and I strongly need a cyrillic input. v.113 is multilanguage, indeed, but am I stupid or it does not have Russian input, yet?
2. Flash - I read about it and as far as I get it, we will not see any flash support in the near future. I read that Opera Mini Browser supports flash but I also found out that there is no version for BB Storm yet (cabaple of resolution 360x480).
3. Several minor issues that are more of inconvenience than real problem. For example there is no way to send a contact via Bluetooth, the only option is to send it as an attachment. Also, I could not find a way of shutting applications, so that they don't just stay minimized.

Can you help me on some of those matters? Especially the Russian input. Do you know of some OS release for the 9500, that supports it?

1. Contact the users here name GT5L for help on the languages. It is as simple as moving the language cods from one OS to the new, but he can help with the particulars.

2. True.

3. You can close open applications in the background by using the Switch Applications menu from most any screen on the BlackBerry, press Menu > Switch Applications.

There are always several apps which won't close, like the homescreen, call log, BBMessenger, Browser and Messages. For the browser, make certain you Menu > Close and do not leave the browser open on an active web page.

Thank you, JSanders.

The good news is that it was yesterday that it finally dawned at me, right after my post above, that, in fact, I speak Russian, though not very well, so I asked google in Russian and quess what?

The moment we speak I have a fully functional cyrillic support and input. The Russian keyboard layout is a bit different from Bulgarian, and they have two more letters, but that really doesn't matter.

Well, the other side of the story is that I had to downgrade from .113 to .114 because that was the latest possible All language OS I could get to. But with my cyrillic keyboard I can now happily wait for some official OS release, with maybe directly Bulgarian support.

The funny part was that the tech support from MTel/Vodafone here in Bulgaria told me that there is absolutely no way of having cyrillic input.
