This I highly doubt. There are quite a few RIM people here, we know. However, most of them are knowledgable but don't advertise their RIM affiliation.

Another one for assumptions. My my, the Internet forums sure have become hostile.

P.S. Debranding is not required, it just adds to convience. As long as ESN/MDN and MIN are in the CDMA carrier of your choice any cdma blackberry will work with that CDMA carrier. Internet and Configuration are what get you.
You are with RIM and you are still using a dinosaur device? Or you really need to update your profile.

Default Mainly a Question

It seams the biggest problem with Storm on Sprint is the ESN. I've seen that you can change an ESN and people do that to use a stolen phone but couldn't you change the ESN of an unlocked Storm to that of a BB that is already on the Sprint Network and in their database then when it comes up it would think that it was the old BB. If this is possible I would like to know what software I could use to change an ESN and to flash a phone. I'm an obvious newbie tossing out ideas.

You won't get the answer to your question on this forum as it is basically illegal.

Can I answer this simply.

You cannot add a Verizon Blackberry Storm to Sprint.
All the talk of flashing and other "hacks" are irrelevant, as most people cant or wont do this.

And, on a cellular tower, each carrier has their own antenna array. They are not shared, although some carriers have roaming agreements.

Welcome to the forums.

Don't believe everything you read.

Well here is the deal. I had Sprint ADD the Esn of my Storm2 to thier database, well they tried at least, its a 3 day process, well it came back and said that "Device Vendor indicated device is not to be active on Sprint Network" So they tried but it didn't go thru.

Now I realize that Someone1234 you said you have had many 9530 and 9550 on Sprint, well the tough part is that maybe the 9530 with the old OS but the New 5.0 OS with its security doesn't allow you to get it into the service menu I am told. In your instructions you say: "Do the device swith, esn + pin and thats it". Sounds easy but please elaborate a bit, cause I have searched everywhere for this answer. What I gather from that statement is that you have another sprint branded BB device and you use the esn and pin from that bb and write it to the storm2. Then when you call to activate there should be no prob.

So after spending the last month on this I had Sprint attempt 3 times to load the esn into the system via Advanced tech support and each time was kicked back. Getting them to the point of adding an esn is tough enough as it is but whether or not it actually gets loaded is another question. So that leads me to believe the only way to have a Storm2 work on Sprint is by changing the esn + pin. So as of now my Storm2 has Sprint's PRL loaded on it and when I dial *2 it connects to sprint cust care, just the esn problem.

So Someone1234 please help out the many people in need of your knowledge here. PM if possible.

Peace

Right...

Keep trying.. Don Quixote has nothing on you guys.

Sprint is not going to let a non Sprint device on their network.
Verizon is not going to let a non Verizon device on their network.

i see a lot of "unlocked" storm 2 devices on ebay claiming that it would work with Tmobile. The sellers even claim that you simplyinsert the TMobile sim card in the device. Is this true?

You have to follow the steps outlined in the Sticky Thread about getting a Storm to work on T-Mobile.

At the top of every forum are threads which are deemed important - they have been "stickied".

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-t-mobile.html is one of them.

I did exactly as you said and it did not work I still have Sprint on my blackberry 8330. But maybe i did not understand this right. I have a Sprint 8330 and want to use it on my TMobile acct. Do i need to unlock this phone?
I thought that it would not need to be unlocked if I changed the OS. Plus browser to work TMobile.
