Once your phone is unlocked, it is unlocked for the duration of the device. It cannot be re-locked.

I asked to be unlocked an there was nothing about a code. She had me do *228 and reprogram the phone. Is this a new way or did she do it wrong?

No, the process of unlocking your device has not changed. Did you call Global Support or Technical Support at 800-922-0204?

Good question, I have no idea now. I did get transferred from one agent to another and I *think* she said she was Global Support.

When I check MEPD on my sim screen I show:
SIM: Disabled
Network: Active
Network Subset: Disabled
Service Provider: Disabled
Corporate: Disabled

ive set up the sim card to accept other GSM networks by calling the 611 number free for verizon and then forwarded to a Global tech support who then added a code to use other sim cards supposedly, i tried putting in a Tmobil card and my phone locked up, i did a hard reset and added my verizon card and everything is peachy, whats' the deal? I did everythign that i was supposed to do. I asked them for the code for my phone and they said that they are able to do it on their end so i " have no hassles" I siad i wanted it for reference and they sid there's no need because i can always call them back and they will fix the problem either by calling the global number while overseas or the 611 while here in the US

WTF

I think your confused. Every phone has a unique unlock code. Call verizon and ask them for yours. If you dont have verizon you would need to pay to have it unlocked, Im sure someone here has a reputable online retailer that they have worked with in the past.

I have included the headers in the e mail I have received to authenticate this information came direct from Verizon Wireless Customer service. Good Luck.

Unlock Procedures
1. Ensure the SIM Card that came pre-installed in the 9530 is inserted
2. Go to 'Manage Connections'
3. Click on 'Turn All Connections Off'

7. Go back to 'Options'
8. Click on 'Advanced Options'
9. Click on 'SIM Card'
10. Type 'MEPD' (letters will not appear on-screen but a menu will pop up)
11. Type 'MEP2' (user will be prompted to enter MEP code)
12. Enter the unlock code (898612743071****)
13. Reboot device
14. Go to 'Manage Connections'
15. Click on 'Restore Connections'
16. Device is now unlocked

Changing phn to gsm mode

Go to mobile network mode and (global to gsm)
