There is also word that At&t will have a version of the Storm in 2009. If this is true that would mean its exclusive to Verizon for several months and its not a lifetime exclusive. We don't know for sure how long Verizon has exclusivity.

I'm sure AT&T will have a version of this at some point, but there is no telling how long it will be held up. I have been waiting for the Bold since May. I'm tired of waiting.

Will Vodaphone sell me a 9500 in the US? If so, how do I go about making the transaction?

Thank you in advance.

No. They will only ship to addresses in the country where they offer service. You would have to have someone from that country order you one and send it to you.

Quick question for all. What about us on T-Mobile? Would the 9530 work on EDGE as well with it being Quad Band?

wouldn't it suck to get the 9500, unlock it to use it on AT&T...and then have it missing a web browser because AT&T doesn't have the service books for it? isn't that waht's happening with unlocked Bolds on Tmobile?

Touch Phone - BlackBerry Storm Specs

Apparently BOTH versions only sport the 2100MHz UMTS radio. Not the TriBand UMTS like the Bold. I am thinking this is still gonna be a no-go for 3G data. Unless RIM just fubared the site.

Could be that the Vodafone version isnt up there, but sure looks like they listed all the radios to me.

This image has the test model's ID # on it. Hopefully they don't get in trouble for leaking.

They were given those models by either VZW or RIM. Doubt they will get in trouble.

that alarm clock feature is so cool, I use my 8130 as my alarm clock right now. I wonder if that alarm clock mode will be the sleep mode for the device so that it shows non-stop. Also, has anyone see how to put the phone in sleep mode so that if you click the screen by accident when putting it in your bag or pocket that it doesn't do something like call an ex or fire off emails...lol

I may be having yet another dim moment, but could you unlock the 9530 - which, if I read right is meant for CDMA/EvDO networks to use on a GSM network (for which the 9500 is being released)? And would doing this enable all features for the GSM network? So for example, I could purchase from Telus, unlock and use on Rogers? Or would the easier thing be to purchase an unlocked 9500 from vodafone, and hope that I can retain full functionality on the Rogers network?

Theoretically the 9530 can (Verizon Storm has Quad Band GSM in addition to it's CDMA bands). The 9500 WILL work for T-Mobile.

Nope. 9500 = vodaphone. 9530 = Verision (US)/Telus (Canada). Rogers has not said anything as yet as to whether they will carry the Storm or not.

There is zero point for Rogers to carry the storm... it doesnt have the 3G frequencies that Rogers uses. At best it would be a 95xx series, but NOT the 9500
