Facebook Notifications?

When I was using the 9700 w/ the facebook app I would get an email in my inbox along with a facebook notification on the app. Ever since I have upgraded to the Torch I no longer get the email and the notifications seem to come about 4-5 hours after the comment / message has been made on my facebook. Anyone know whats wrong or how to fix this? I tried a battery pull with no luck.
