Smile Is that any possibility to get on the Internet without BIS on unlocked 9650?

Please Login to Remove!

I bought my new 9650 a few days ago. I still cannot get on the Internet without wifi when I have a Tmobile prepaid plan with 30MB data. I have manually loaded Tmobile service book and also installed miniOpera on my phone. When I try to get on the Internet with mini Opera, it says "unable to connect. please review your network setting." The representative of Tmobile recommend me to change my plan to $50 unlimited plan and add BIS which would cost me another $10. Is anybody here can get Internet access without BIS which your signal is lower case letter "edge"? Thanks!

Some carriers block WIFI unless you have a Blackberry Data plan.
All carriers block Blackberry type service without a Blackberry Data plan

Lowercase "edge" says you are not connected to RIM and therefore have no RIM/BB services, such as BBM, FB, WiFi, email, Internet, etc.

what i used to do with my old 8310 when i had it was just call the company (at that time i had ATT) and told them to activate a internet plan. the guy said stuff like it wont work and all but i still told him to do it. he did it and it worked until i canceled it.

That was then. This is now.

AT&T automatically adds the proper data plan if they find you don't have one.

Hi, guys. I downgraded my OS to version 5 and I finally get access to the Internet without BIS. I can use both wifi and 2G data service now. It seems I have to stay in OS 5 if I want to use my regular data plan without BIS.
