My tmo corporate rep said she "thinks" they will have it in September, and she has no word on corporate pricing. I'm expecting around 100 with no additional contract.

Well there is a schedualed apperance in Toronto for speaker co-founder of RIM and it's on the 18th of September. Talking about both business and consumer products and where RIM stands. Maybe they will launch it that day.

according to the NDA from T-Mobile, it's $199 on Sept 18. i'd take a guess and say that those figures are likely not too far off...

I agree. Given all the leaked images have TMo branding all over them it's a fair assumption to say they'll get it first. My guess is Cingular will be next in the US, and Vodafone the first in Europe.

I can't see that happening as the 8100 will not be a replacement device for the 8700.

They might drop it a little, even tho it is not a replacement per se many people who were thinking of gettnig the 8700 will get the 8100, im betting they will do something wtih the price of the 8700 within one month of 8100 lauch

I'm hoping so. The wheel on my 7100t is starting to go.. I'd like an 8700, but its still a bit too spendy for me

It will replace my 8700. No doubt it will cannibalize some of the 8700 sales due to the unique size and camera. Once they come up with an 8700 that's uber thin and has a camera, that will reverse itself to some extent.

Used 8700's are running from $50 to $150 or more on eBay. I hope the price of the 8700 DOESN'T drop! Mine is in excellent condition, so I might be able to move to an 8100 for $50.

I'm waiting to hear what the performance is like compared to an 8700 though. If the phone is no better, and the device is significantly slower than an 8700, not sure if I could be persuaded. However, if the phone is significantly better, and/or the speed is at least close to an 8700, it's very tempting...

Here's how freaked about the 8100 I am: I just bought a 7105t to start using until I can get the Pearl. I'm ditching my Treo 650 and jumping right back on the Blackberry bandwagon before this new beauty even hits the streets. I honestly don't know what will happen if the 8100 is delayed. I could end up in a bell tower with a high powered rifle. I think I need medication. :D

Spoke to t-mo today first person said available on the 6th but was rather an idiot, so I called back got a better rep on line that offered the 12th, which i then confirmed by calling a local t-mo store.

Somebody always gets an exclusive for a while. This time it's T-Mobile. I can see you Cingular guys and girls waiting for 6 months and reading all our glowing reviews about how our productivity has shot up, Our sex lives have improved, and that we're the envy of all those around us! :D
