Cool can't tether after upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my vzw 8130 to 4.5.0.77 using another carrier's release. I just tried to tether after running this upgrade for a few weeks. VZ access manager didn't recognize my device. My computer didn't either. Is this because the upgrade change something on the blackberry? I can connect to the media folder just fine.

i did a search and didn't see any topics like this so forgive me if it's a repeat.

I have been running .77 for a week or two now. I had .56 and then .66 before I upgraded to .77. I run tethered via USB all day every day at work. I haven't had any problems with that at all.

However, I have not been able to run tethered via Bluetooth since I upgraded to 4.5. That worked fine with 4.3.

for some reason the computer no longer recognizes the unit when i plug it in and that is most likely the problem. i'm trying to figure out how to remedy that and why upgrading to 4.5 made the device seem different.

Just FYI, I just upgraded to 4.5.0.89 and it seems to be working fine. I am tethered via USB and connected to the Internet using it right now.

BTW, have you upgraded your Desktop Manager? The current version is something like v4.6.1. If not, maybe that's your problem (with your BB connection - I don't have any idea what *your* problem is ;).

Default maybe

Look at your mini usb jack on the phone with a magnifying glass. Mine had some bent pins. The phone might charge fine but it uses different pins for the data.
