Default How bad is the rebooting problem?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a current T-Mobile customer in Long Island, NY and currently own a SE t610 phone and a Dell Axim X30 PDA. I'm sick of carrying two devices around and am planning to purchase a BB 7100t. I have no plans to go to Cingular (blech). I have an e-mail into T-Mobile support right now asking if they have any remedy on the horizon for the rebooting problem during calls. They've referred it to their Advanced Technical Services Team. What I want to know is how would you rate the problem: minor nuisance, severe headache, or deal breaker?

I am serious when I tell you that "the rebooting problem" is not even on my radar. We have a pile of them and no one here complains about them. BES, no BWC and no third party software is allowed, so maybe that helps.

Same here. 7 or 8 7100ts and 2 7100gs and no user has ever mentioned a reboot during a call before. We're on BES, no BWC or third party software also.

BES and no BWC? Well, that's the rub. My company, a world-class engineering firm, is several technological generations behind. I travel alot and they don't see the need for a laptop either. So I'm on my own, and would be running BWC. From another thread on this topic, it seems that you can stop the problem by applying additional rules through BES. Is there anyone out there running BWC with the same lack of concern?

I have never even heard of this supposed "reboot problem." I've had a 7100t since maybe November and it's never once rebooted on me for any reason, unless I switched it on and off myself.

I've found mine to sometimes reboot when using a bluetooth headset.

I've had my handheld reboot ONCE. BES and no BWC with default ITPolicy settings from the BES.

I've never had a reboot I didn't initiate. 7100v with BWC, lots of 3rd party apps.

Ah yes, the "No reboot during 7100x call" setting. :D

J/K

Our BES has a default IT policy -- nothing is set (rules, policies, etc), if that helps narrow it down any.

I have had it happen to me a few time. I do use BWC. I also use around 2000 daytime min. a month so you can see how often I am on the handset. I did not notice anything till I load v4.0. I may also add that since the load my calculator does not work.

wdduck, are you using a theme? I was under the impression that it wasn't 4.0 that broke the calculator, but on of the themes. So it would work on other themes.

What "rebooting problem"? I'm new to BB, but this is the least "reboot-needing" phone or integrated device I've had.

I've read about the "reboot problem" but can say that four of using Tmobile 7100t's with BWC have never seen the issue (5+ months of use x 4 people).

Can you add "No problem - I haven't experienced it" to the poll?

Choosing "Minor Nuisance" would be an overstatement for some of us.

Never experienced this problem on my 7100g and I use BES and BWC. Also installed a heap of apps and themes on it. No such problems.

I have a 7100t with BWC and no 3rd party and I have never had it reboot when I didn't press the button.
