Default Verizon Has Accepted Me With Open Arms

Please Login to Remove!

Well, it's done. I have just returned from the Verizon Wireless store down the road from me with a new 9930. I'm downloading the OS update and desktop software as I type this. Outlook is already connected to Exchange and ready to go.

Yep... today is a good day.

On a side note: if all works out with the Verizon service and the 9930, I will be porting my AT&T number over in two weeks. At that point, I will be selling my iPhone 4 without hesitation. I am, however, keeping the iPad. Can't let go of that one just yet.

You should put the playbook OS on it... It rocks the 9900!

I love my iPad too. I added a PlayBook to my little burgeoning electronics collection, but that's only to see how it goes with the next major update. When I reach for something it's either my Bold 9930, my iPad, or my MacBook Air.

I take it you don't like the playbook?

rambo47, or me? If me, then I'm torn. The PlayBook is a good idea that, so far, I believe is horribly executed. Maybe with 2.0 it will be better, but I'm not sure.

I like the PlayBook, but it's no iPad. The size of the PlayBook is intriguing and QNX shows promise. But it's a work in progress. I'm excited to see where the next major OS update takes it.

I had a Galaxy Tab and loved the 7" size over the iPad.. I want to get one but I won't pay $500 for it..

Problem with the Playbook for me is that you are tethered to a wi-fi hotspot. My iPad has 3G, and is truly portable. Plus I get to play with all of Apple's apps while keeping my Berry in hand for real work.

You aren't tethered to a WiFi hotspot if you have Bridge.

How does Bridge work to get you on the web?

Bridge is the program that connects your PlayBook to your BlackBerry handheld and uses the handheld's connection to get you on the web. Bridge also lets you see everything on your BlackBerry via your PlayBook's 7" screen.
