Cool Re: 9900 Battery Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I purchased two Momax 1400ah J-M1 PDA batteries direct on ebay and have been testing them for 10 days and here my conclusions.

The batteries arrived within 8 working days from Hong Kong

They were very well packaged and compete with decoder and full instructions

They are around 1.5mm thicker than original batteries, but fit snug inside the original battery cover.

Coding the batteries was quick and easy, less than 5 secs.

The batteries were tested on 7.1.0.205, 7.1.0.267 and 7.1.0.342 with no problems, they did not work on 7.1.0.402 or 7.1.0.428! These are the only OS7 softwares that I tested!

The batteries took 3 full charges to reach peak, 3 days after a new software install.

The batteries have been hard booted 10 times and softbooted 15 times and have never had to be recoded.

They are giving around extra 2.5 - 3 hours of heavy use, and around 33% extra standby time.

Thank you Momax and f¥ck you R¥M

Hope this help helps

I bought My BB bold 9900 10 days ago, for the first couple of days the battery lasted only 6 hours with medium use. Then I browsed through few forum threads, and the best advise that worked for me so far is as follow:
1. Turn the screen brightness to 10%
2. WIFI off when i leave home
3. the most effective is perhaps turning the 3G off unless when you need to browse internet

so far I get 45% remaining battery life after 12 hours of moderate use!!!

I hope you find that useful

My T-Mo 9900 gets awful battery life, but my Bell 9900 is great. I can get through a 15 hour day easy with a lot of e-mail, BBM and an hour of calls or so. Same OS on both devices, both OS-wiped before install. I don't get it...battery has nothing to do with it as I use the same batteries in both units. Go figger.

I know that a lot of you have awfull battery issues. I was having them too. I had the phone for two days and was already dissapointed. The bb bold 9900 is a great phone but this is the one problem. TURN OFF YOUR WIFI and put "battery saving mode" on ALL THE TIME. My battery went from 5hours to 15 hours!! Big improvement!

I had a 9900. Best BlackBerry I'd ever used, and I've had almost all of them, from the 950 on. Battery life was pretty bad. 6 hours max. That's it.

Got a new Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Phone 7. I'd be THRILLED to get 6 hours out of it. It is a small battery, with a large, bright screen; a bad combination. Waiting for an improved battery and the ever popular "next software version" to see if it gets better.
So why'd you bail from the best BlackBerry you ever owned to a Lumia? I'm asking because I've now got the best BlackBerry I've ever owned, the Bold, also having gone through almost all of them, and am thinking of bailing myself.
