Does anyone know how to sync Palm desktop data to a BB curve? My palm device is dead (water accident!) - all my data is in my Palm desktop application on my Mac. Can I move this to my new BB? Any ideas?

There's really no straightforward way to do it.
Can you export from Palm Desktop into ASCII text files? If so, then you could import those text files into your BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

the desktop manager has an option to migrate devices, I think I remember seeing an option for palm. I didn't look very closely because I was only upgrading from a 8100 to 8320. good luck with it.

The switch device wizard in BlackBerry Desktop Manager requires that the Palm DEVICE would be connected... which is not possible due to water damage as mentioned by the OP.

seems like I may have to spend $200 for a new palm just to sync the info and then TRY to transfer it?

If you can get the data into some generic format as soupandsandwich mentions, then there are several options to then make it loadable onto a Blackberry. Outlook is one and another one people forget is Yahoo. One benefit is Yahoo is free, and another is you then have another backup independent of your computer.

Yahoo has some instructions on how to get contacts from Palm Desktop into Yahoo. Calendar entries will take some other exporting.

What information does Palm Desktop store? When I used it almost a decade ago, it had contacts and a calendar.

I haven't used the Palm for the past decade but continue to keep my contact info in the Palm Desktop. I exported the contacts to ASCII file, used Excel to modify the some of the field names (after trying to match the fields a few times) and synch'ed with 8320. It takes some work and repeated trials but beats the re-typing/checking for sure.

If you could export your PALM PIM data to a CSV format,, upload it to MSN, yahoo, or Google for the calendar stuff, then you can reverse-sync it with your BB. The calendar and address book apps should work. I don't know about Mac so I'm not sure how you would export your memos and your tasks.

You may wish to check with the above providers to see if this can be imported via CSV files from your MAC.
