hiya i recently brought my sisters old blackberry 8110 wich was on contract, i have now put my o2 text and web sim card in but it says it is unable to connect to the internet. So i transfered opera mini 4 and 5 to my phone, they will not properly install as it says unable to connect to the internet. does anyone know why this is or how i could sort it out? also if there are any other browsers like opera mini that i could try on my phone i would be more than grateful!! thanks

You need to call O2 and have a BlackBerry data plan added to your account.

yes, that matters. they don't offer blackberry bolt-ons on payg.
only contract and blackberry simplicity, sim only plans.

change plan to a sim only plan. 30 day rolling contract.
closest to payg with the benefit of getting a blackberry data plan.

Mark,

Thanks for this thread and your APN instructions.

My unlocked 9700 is on FIDO (in Canada) but I am unable to use the Blackberry Browser via FIDO's 3G even after entering the APN info. When I try to browse, the phone opens a message box that said, "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again." I have verified that it does browse correctly via a Wi-Fi network.

Do you have any ideas?

thx for your help,
iFM

Hey there,

I'm going to study in Hungary and therefore I need to get a prepaid plan for my Blackberry Torch - do you know if Vodafone Hungary offers BB Services also with prepaid plans or only with postpaid plans? Or none of both?
