My VZW 8830 has decided it no longer wishes to charge normally. About 3 months ago, it would randomly reboot when I plugged either the sync or charge cable in; now, I get the "Plugged In" icon and the charge meter goes nowhere fast.

Last night tops the cake, as it is at the same power level 10 hours later as when it was plugged in to charge. I confirmed that the "Charging/Plugged In" icon was on when I sat it down and when I picked it up this morning.

I am holding on for July 14 for dear life, when the Tour comes out (9630). I really do not want to upgrade before that point if at all possible. What can I do?

Have you tried different outlets?

I've had a few issues with bad USB ports on the 8830 model.

Bad battery?

Have you tried pulling the battery while the phone is ON, to reboot it? Pull battery for 30+ seconds.
