Download was seamless!

Did I imagine this? When it finished downloading I saw a black screen with a clock (with correct time). There was even a stopwatch function. But I hit a button and the whole thing went away. Where is that located?

***Never mind - it's the new clock/alarm function. Super cool looking

I'm having issues with this...

I've deleted the vendor.xml file and then clicked the Loader file in that same folder, but when the loader opens, it takes me to the application loader to add or remove all of the normal applicaitons, not the OS...any thoughts?

Ok, this is very bizarre. I am trying to load this OS on my son's 8330, using the same laptop that I upgraded the other one a few hours ago, and his device doesn't detect the new OS. At all.

Vendor.xml has been deleted. I don't get it. His MEID starts with the same first 8 numbers as the one I just updated.

*scratches head*

Me too. see my post ^^ up there. Not sure why it would work on one MEID device and not another.

Can you please verify that the number listed under Options->Status is the same number listed on the sticker in your battery compartment.

Also, can you click on Options-> About and see what's listed as your device type? Does it show 8330 or 8330m (not sure if it will ever show the 'm', I'm just curious now).

I think I know what's going on....

This device I upgraded earlier this afternoon does not have an ESN - only the MEID.

So then I come home to upgrade my son's MEID device and it won't see the OS. Using the same laptop that I upgraded the test device with - no dice. I confirm no vendor.xml anywhere.

So then I get to thinkin - was that test device REALLY an MEID device.... I mean, yes, it only has an MEID number (I just purchased it a month ago).

After I upgraded the test device I then activated it on a BES. I just looked at the BES and it is not listed as 8330m - only 8330! There is a user with an 8330m right under the test account and their device is listed as 8330m.

In my Options->Status, it is an 8330m

In Options->About, it is MEID

Under the battery, it is MEID

Does this help?

I'm uninstalling the upgrade, redownloading and will try again...

Thanks for the confirmation. This upgrade, unfortunately, won't work for you since you have an MEID device.

The device I upgraded earlier only had an MEID, so I thought (mistakenly) that it was an MEID device, I thought this OS would work for both ESN and MEID.

My fault for getting everyone excited.....total bummer.

I will upgrade the first post again

If your device shows 8330m under Options -> About, you can't use this OS to upgrade.

JW, I'm wondering about this... to many others are installing it on MEID devices.

Let me ask this...my old 8330 (that is only 11 months old) is ESN.

Looking for opinions here...do I switch back to it in order to upgrade and use OS5.0?

Hmmm...

I don't think they are 8330m devices..... the one I did this afternoon is not an 8330m - only 8330. Even though there is not an ESN on it.

Downloading now will be installing shortly.

Does the Gmail Plug-In work with OS 5.0? I had that problem with the leaked beta.
