You left out a lot of detail. The faceplate is harder to take off and a bit tricky.
Also the photos could have been much better. Way too fuzzy.
I don't know how this made a sticky?

Been there done that.

Default Changed Housing- No Signal?

I changed the housing on my 8310 using these instructions as a guide and now I get no signal and network info is no longer listed on the phone settings. I cannot identify any damage, but replaced the midboard on the off chance that I damaged the antenna. Still no luck. Any ideas or fixes? Thanks.

I am starting to get dust in the upper right top of my screen. Do you think that the seal needs replacing? If yes, then where do I get a new seal? If AT&T would get off their butt, I would just get a Bold.

When taking off the faceplate - did it seem that replacing the keypad would be a lot of work? Or is it as simple as replacing keypads on say - an old Nokia candybar? (Once the faceplate has been removed, of course)

How hard is it to move everything if you want to change housing colors? I want to go from silver to black, but I would need to change my antenna and keyboard as well. TIA.

Guys my sim card holder broke so I purchased a replacement.
Will I be able to easily get to the solder contacts on the other side of the board so I can replace the socket?

thanks, rob

Red face Right On!

This is a GREAT guide! I also found a video of it on youtube, and I've replaced my red AT&T housing with a nice pink housing. It was as easy as the old Nokia or Motorola v series, really. Tools are almost the same, too. Maybe that is normal with cell phones, I actually don't usually run around taking my phones apart, contrary to my Sig Other's belief! HEHEHE. I will try to post a picture of it!

You should really take it apart at some point so you can clean out the dust. It helps.
