My daughter stepped on my phone while it was charging and bent the usb port and the connectors that are inside of it. Will I be able to disassemble this device enough to fix this issue?

The port itself is bent into the device housing and it seems as though the metal pieces that would normally be in the clip have simply slipped out. I was hoping that I would simply be able to remove the housing and, using needlenose pliers and patience, replace the wires and then reset the usb port.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

It all depends on how bad the damage is. Most likely a new one will need to be soldered on. A cell phone/electronics repair shop can likely fix it

Thanks for this guide, it's going to come in very handy as my 8310's keyboard has stopped working. I'm sure it's nothing too major as the device still powers up without issue, gets thro verifying security settings / software etc and allows me to use the trackball to scroll up and down but I cannot click on anything with the trackball or use any of the keys.

I wish I'd noticed the guide before I bought a preowned 87xx as a replacement.

Thanks again NickfromIL

Unhappy Help! Faceplate won't go back on!

I am in the middle of switching the casing on my curve, and the disassembly was no problem. But after I put the new casing on, the front plate won't lock into place on the sides. It bows out. I see how it has 2 clips that clip onto the side of the case under the screen, but they wont stay in place. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have been wanting to change my case housing for quite sometime now, I did a search and found a lot of off places (there's one that has a 10 to 30 day ship). Anyone know where a good place to get a case housing from? doesn't have to be the full one either. thank you.

Just currious, what kind of modifications did you make to the light?

Do a search for OEM housing on eBay. I found several different suppliers with many different colors. Many of them provide the tools as well. You can also find them on Horizon although there isn't as much variety in color.

from what I was told, it's not a good idea to go through the suppliers from eBay (chances are you will not get the OE housings).
