Default Sync via bluetooth

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my new 8310 and everything worked fine but the synchronization via bluetooth. I succeeded to synchronize using the USB cable, but not via bluetooth. What is a bit confusing is that I can get paired and transfer files via bluetooth but I cannot connect the Desktop Manager. I actually don't have in Connection Settings the 'Enable Bluetooth support' button available to be marked. Any suggestions?

I run Desktop Manager 4.2.2 on Windows XP.

It worked finally. I had to uninstall the third party bluetooth software I had on my PC and return to the Windows Bluetooth Software.

You didn't install it... Dell did.
I believe all Dell machines use the Toshiba Bluetooth stack.
You need to remove the toshiba stack, and replace it with the Microsoft stack.
Follow the link in post #2 above in this thread.

I've followed the RIM KB to the tee and I still can't get my D-link dongle to sync. I have it running the MS stack but the desktop manager (4.2 sp2) does not see it. Links to the PC but not the DM. What's strange is before the 4.2 desktop manager it worked.

Ok, I had the same problem as original poster. Followed the BB instructions. Uninstalled 3rd party drivers. No prob. Paired the device to the laptop, no problem. Laptop and BB can see each other, good. Desktop manager can see the Device, awesome. I go to connect via bluetooth through DM. It asks me for a password to connect. Ok, I'll just put in the same string of 4 numbers I've used in EVERY other password slot. That has to work. NOPE! Wrong password! It gives me 10 tries to put in the correct password...which is the same as unlocking the blackberry device itself. I try it 5 times, it doesn't work, says 5 tries left. I go to my BB and enter the password to unlock it and it says "5 tries left". So I assume that my password to unlock is the password DM is looking for to connect via BT. I'm to the point of pulling out my hair. Its the same password I use to unlock, pair the bluetooth, as well as my password collector, but it doesn't work from DM. And its a string of numbers, so....can't be a caps issue. Where do I get this password to finally connect my BB via bluetooth?

Embarrasing. When I unlock my phone, the number lock isn't activated, so I'm typing letters, while I look at the numbers (and assume I'm entering numbers) so I just typed in the corresponding letters and it works. I'm an idiot.

I have the excat same issue so I have tried to find the right driver or to set up my Dell Latitude D420 so that I can use the driver from the SP2 (don't know where to go). I have not find any driver on the interet and I am now stuck.

Could you please provide us with a link to what driver to set up to get this issue resolve?

The link above (BlackBerry Search Results) does not tell what driver to use or how to set it up.

I have a Dell D620, and am havibg issues with BT on my BB8120.

When you say delete thirdparty BT program do you mean delete the Toshiba Stack in add/remove progs?

People talk about Widcomm causing the poroblem but I can't find anything by Widcomm apart from Broadcom Suite.

After I've deleted the third party BT how do I invoke the XP Sp2 version?
