My biggest peeve is when people spell Vodafone as "Vodaphone".
I'd love to ask corey@510, but haven't seen him around in a long time.

Oh. That sucks. I like Corey. He's a nice fella.

I haven't been around in a while either, but a thread in the 8800 forum needed my expert advice.

I thought I'd share this e-mail I just received at work.

"Per this email please remove the card expiration date so the account won’t show expire. The customer is needs to get some monies today. Please let me know when complete."

And yes this e-mail is real.

What about spelling?

"grammer?"

it's "grammar."

Default other offenders

"are" vs "our"

and quite often i see "would of" or "should of" when the intent is "have"

grr!

Adding another posting pet peeve:
People who can't (or simply don't care to) get software versioning right.
  • Package version != Apps version
  • 4.2 != 4.2.1 there's big differences between the 4.2.0 code and 4.2.1 and dropping the digit creates ambiguity
  • .64 is not shorthand for 4.2.1.64 (we're not talking about motorola here)
Pushing a couple extra .s and #s won't kill you
[/petty complaining]

lol my question is does it really matter! It is the internet and we are all good looking, built and have millions of dollars in the bank right.

but the word's that drive me crazy are: wut=what dun=done dem=them and the most abused word is da=the.

and by the way its good to be back on the forums in a learning mode in stead of a troll mode

Wirelessly posted (penkberry: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

since the topic has broadened...

one of my co-workers has developed her own abbreviations. funny in some ways, but mostly just sad.
"insurance" is commonly shortened to "INS"in healthcare billing. despite 5 years with the company she elects for "INSUR". barring ethnic considerations and the similarity to "I.N.S.", i can't begin to understand this thinking.

my recent favorite is how she decides to shorten "information". not "info" or even (shudder) "411". no, she goes with "inform". i'm pretty sure an aspect of abbreviation is to avoid truncation into another word, especially if it includes a transition from noun to verb.

lol, ask her to send you a Key Code to her abbreviation pattern, since hers are different than the accepted norm. She'll might get the message.
